Students Combating Bullying Connection, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists to support youth and young adults in totality beyond combating bullying. Our two focal points are 1. to empower youth and young adults to combat bullying, and 2. to impart essential knowledge to youth and young adults that is necessary to successfully navigate life.
Our mission is to deliver essential knowledge to youth and young adults through The Enrichment Program, while collaborating with guardians, teachers, administrators, and community leaders.
The vision of SCB Connection, Inc. is to grow and sustain a long-term solid presence in the area of youth and young adult enrichment.
The Enrichment Program
The Enrichment Program is our main program, that is implemented in two ways - Community Implementation and In-School Implementation (click The Enrichment Program link to learn more). Community Implementation happens when we go directly into the community utilizing YMCAs, libraries, churches, etc. and invite participants from the community to attend The Enrichment Program sessions. In-School Implementation happens when The Enrichment Program is implemented into schools.
The Enrichment Program has two competencies that participants learn: Social Emotional Learning and Conflict Management. Learning these life skills empower participants to be productive, well-rounded citizens and prepare them for life, college and the workforce while instilling principles to combat bullying.
The Enrichment Program is beneficial for youth/young adults beyond bullying. The program's competencies (Social Emotional Learning and Conflict Management) are great for youth/young adults with an array of social concerns, because the competencies are relevant beyond bullying. Specifically, The Enrichment Program addresses social concerns that youth and young adults may face on a daily basis beyond bullying such as peer pressure, self-esteem, social media boundaries, emotional vocabulary, self-love, relationship building and more.

Students Combating Bullying Connection, Inc. (SCB Connection, Inc.) was founded by Demetré Bivins in August 2014, out of a desire to empower youth and young adults to excel to their life's potential and combat bullying. Demetré holds a bachelor's degree in Management and a master's degree in Conflict Management. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of Human Resources, which includes experience in the areas of conflict management, leadership development, educational content development, employee relations and training facilitation. Demetré is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is also a board member for: John W. Carpenter Elementary School Site-Based Decision -Making Committee, City of Arlington, Texas Diversion Advisory and Your Voice Foundation. Her community involvement includes teaching participants of The Enrichment Program since 2014, tutoring students to prepare for standardized tests, mentoring at-risk high school students, presenting the pitfalls of social media to students, and much more. After many years of training and developing organization leaders on emotional intelligence and conflict management, Demetré decided to leave the corporate world to pursue her calling of making a difference in the lives of youth and young adults. Demetré is a single mother of an adult son, and she is very aware of the issues that youth and young adults face. Additionally, she is very experienced at having crucial conversations on youth issues and is guiding her son along the path of entrepreneurial success. Considering Demetré's experience as a mother, her community involvement and her experience in training and development, it is easy to see how those experiences transition well into the work of SCB Connection, Inc.
